· My EA6900 is working with vortex CFE so i can tell that if i flash via GUI the router boot on "linux2" after reboot. there, using "cat /proc/mtd" i make sure that can see both partitions so i flash the newest beta on "linux" and keep the old that works well on "linux2".

· Here is my EA6900 CFE. It is compiled from Asus sources 18.104.22.168 and adapted to EA6900 GPIOs. Don't forget to enter your mac addresses and secret code in CFEEdit before flashing. Also here is AsusWRT-Merlin 378.50 compiled especially for EA6900 and this new CFE. Enjoy.
I would probably suggest reading the whole thread of the EA6900 to get some background on the issue and additional tips before attempting it. Another option AFTER or IF you flash the modified CFE is to try Xwrt-Vortex, this is a port of Asuswrt-Merlin for the ASUS routers that works on the Linksys EA6900 and Netgear R7000 routers.

· I've managed to run Asus RT-AC68U firmware on EA6900 by flashing custom Asus bootloader (CFE v126.96.36.199) to Linksys. Now I really happy with Asuswrt-Merlin 374.41 Beta 1 firmware on EA6900. Everything works, including the saving more than 32k variables to nvram.

Installed Xwrt-Vortex (378.54_2) without incident. Note that you cannot return to Netgear FW by loading stock directly from Xwrt-Vortex.You must use a modified image (link below) after which you proceed to load the latest stock image. (I have not tested this).
